Oregon State University has introduced the Jump Start program through its INTO OSU partnership. This initiative is aimed at international students and seeks to help this demographic secure on-campus jobs prior to their arrival in the US.
The Jump Start program is designed to provide both financial support and professional development opportunities. Students can benefit from work experience in a variety of roles, with remote job interviews and vacancies handled before their arrival. This early involvement eases the transition to study abroad and integrates students into the campus community from the start.
This program is beneficial for international students because it offers financial stability with the potential of an annual income of more than $20,000, as well as fewer initial settlement problems and access to early career development opportunities.
